TEXT

Nature’s First Green Rise - Kathryn Spratt

Dawn cries,

"Nature's first green, rise,"

gray earth stirs

remembering rain.

Soft with promise,

the air is sweet,

trees shine slick and silver.

Broken skies reach tulips' grave,

touch where withered lilies lay,

wake the sleeping crocus.

New Edens bloom

with blossoming fruit;

early leaves unfold.

Dawn cries,

"Nature's first green, rise!

The hour has come;

a garden grows gold."
